Climbing Out of the Crib

I cannot believe it, but my 19 month old has climbed out of her crib not once, but twice. Brian was watching TV last night after he put her to bed and a few minutes later, she just walked around the corner out of her room. She not only got out of the crib, but also opened the door!!!! It was almost three times during her nap today...as I put the video camera in her room to see exactly how she was getting out. The funny thing is that she is not falling out of the crib, she is very carefully climbing over and letting herself ease down. Looks like a toddler bed is in our future... I AM NOT READY FOR THIS!! SHE IS NOT OLD ENOUGH!! HA

The Cast Comes Off

Today was a very special day...Macy's cast came off!!! We were so excited for her and she was so brave as the man cut it off. She didn't wince or cry or anything.

Last Night in Daytona

(written 8/3) Brian's parents watched the girls so that Brian and I and his sister and brother-in-law could go out on a date. We ate at a local restaurant that was out on the pier. The views were breathtaking.

Here is me and Brian and Keith and Robin...definitely looking like we all got way too much sun...we are glowing. It always seems like on the last day we are on the beach...there is very little sunscreen used and a prayer said that you'll leave looking very brown. Only, I left looking red!

Wednesday - Ocean Time and Family Time

(written on 8/3) Macy spent lots of ocean time with daddy. She finally enjoyed being out there again with daddy. A friend took our picture...I guess since I take all the pictures, I am usually not in any of them. That is alright with me!!

That afternoon, we had a really bad storm so we had to come in early. We got the girls dressed and once the weather calmed down, they played outside for a little while. Outside of our rooms, there is the pool and then a grassy area with a table and gazebo.

That evening, we went to a local place called High Tides. It has the best clam chowder I have ever eaten. I took the opportunity to take some pictures of everyone that was there with us. Here is Mary Jane and Gene (Brian's aunt and uncle).

Tuesday - More beach time

(written on 8/3) Today, Macy played in the sand with Poppy. Again, she made castles and then stopped on them...giggling the entire time.

Tonight, we went to the dog races. Macy had a ball seeing the dogs before they ran, watching the trainers walk them around the track to the beginning, and then watch them run as fast as they could to chase "Lucky." I can't say that we won anything...yes, we did bet on a couple of races. We based it on their "cool" or "not so cool names." Might I suggest not betting that way...didn't pay off at all!! HA

Saturday - What was in that Icee?

(written on 8/3) Macy had at least one icee every day. It was so hot, that it didn't really matter. She usually chose cherry, it was her favorite. This particular day, she was very tired. She wanted to sit in mommy's chair down in the water and she put Poppy's towel on her head. She looks as if she is either drunk (which we know is not the case) or she is on the verge of going to sleep!!!

That evening, we went back to Inlet Harbor and Macy and Daddy had a good time dancing together. They looked so sweet!!

Friday - Pool Day

(written on 8/3) The girls tired quickly of the beach. Macy loved being the pool and loved for anyone to let her swim to them. She was just a little fish. I couldn't believe just how good she could swim even with having the cast on her arm. This morning, Granddaddy was the willing participant to let her jump in, swim to him, swim back to the side, crawl out, and repeat over and over. She just loved it.

This video cracked me up. I guess Molly was just doing her "happy dance." Any time she hears music, she just begins to dance...and that she did!!

Thursday, Daddy's Here!!!

(written on 8/3) Daddy and Poppy got in late last night. The girls were so excited when they woke up!!

(written on 8/3) Before Brian's neice and boyfriend had to go back home, I took some cute pictures of the family. Somehow, I never got the boyfriend in the picture on my camera. I think he got on Emily's camera. OOOPPS!!

Wednesday...Daddy and Poppy come tonight

(written on 8/3) We had so much fun on the beach today. Aunt Nane (Brian's aunt, Mary Jane) played with the girls on the beach. They took their bucket and looked for little fish. She taught Macy how to rub sunscreen on your back (very good help!!). And Macy enjoyed an icee on the beach. We are so blessed to have a food truck right in front of the hotel (well, the back of the hotel on the beach). We have known the people that own it for years and they are always in the same spot. You can get drinks, hot dogs, french fries, icees, etc...you name it, she's got it. It is wonderful.

Overcast Afternoon...no Beach

(written on 8/3) It was overcast today, so we decided to go do a little shopping in the afternoon before dinner. The girls had fun riding all of the little cars and buses that move. They really just enjoyed getting out and running around.

After the mall, we had dinner at a local, well-known restaurant called Parks. It has been in Daytona for years and just a few years ago moved to a new location. Their original location was on the water and was bought by a company building condos. I am sure that they got just a few million for that piece of property. Macy wanted to pose with the alligator. The neat thing about this restaurant is the two huge fish tanks. Macy will tell you that she saw Nemo and Dori in those tanks.
