First Soccer Game

Today was Macy's first soccer game. She was so excited to put on her soccer uniform. We got there and waited and waited for the other team to show up...but they never did. The times has been changed later in the week and they may have just not gotten the information. So, the coach used this time to really practice the game. There were a couple of girls from another team who were there for a game who decided to come over and play for a little while.

About half way through the game/practice, Macy just lost it. She started crying and didn't stop until the end of the game. She kept saying, "I don't want to play," "I need water," "They took the ball from me," "I'm tired." We really started to wonder if we had done a bad thing by signing her up. But, we are not going to let her quit. Brian ended up having to go out there with her for about fifteen minutes and run the field with her.

At one point in the game, one of her other teammates/friends got upset because the ball was stolen from her and she sat down in the middle of the field and crossed her arms. She was very upset. Well, Macy (really feeling the same way) walked over and sat right down beside her and crossed her arms as well. They had a little "pitty party" all to themselves.

Trip Home

The car ride home went better than I thought it would with the girls. We bought them 3 new movies before the trip hoping that would entertain them...and it did! The last hour and half was the longest though. The girls starting really getting on each other's nerves and asked so many times when we were going to be home. I was so ready to be home!


This is what happens when you give a 4 year old a sticker book behind you in the back seat and you don't pay attention to what she's doing!! It was hilarious to turn around and see her.

Billy Jean

One of the funniest things of the trip happened this afternoon. The girls were playing with Mathias, who I spoke about here. Brian and I were singing all kinds of songs with the girls and he came over and started singing with us. We sang "Skinamarinki dinki dink, skinamarinki do, I love you" and then "Twinkle, twinkle, little star" and then Brian asked him, "what other songs do you know?" And as loud as he could sing came "Billy Jean...is not my lover!" We started laughing hysterically and then looked over to his parents and they were laughing hysterically as well. It was too funny. Then, I asked him, "do you know Beat It?" Again, as loud as he could sing...."Beat It, Beat It..." It was so funny!

Fun at the Beach, Day 6...Our Last Day

Today was bittersweet...our last day at the beach, but we are all ready to come home. It was very hot today so we spent most of the day in the pool. The girls were worn about by about 2:00. So were we... Thought I would show the array of toys that made their way down with us each and every day. We had everything from a watering can to pails and shovels to a teaset.

Macy loved playing with her "little people" pretending they were going to the store and playing at the beach.

We decided to go back to Aunt Catfish's to eat because we loved it so much a few days ago. The highlight of the evening for the girls was getting to play again on the slide.

Fun at the Beach, Day 5

The girls are getting more tired by the day. The funny thing is that the more tired they are, the better they get along. Wierd, huh? I got the girls tea set from the room today and let them play with it in the pool. They just loved it.

We went to eat at another favorite place this evening called Parks. They have the best "smoked fish dip," "manhatten chowder" and "key lime pie." They also have two amazing fish tanks with Nemo and Dori! The girls ate a really good dinner because they knew when they got done, they could look at the fish tank.

After dinner, we went driving around looking at the "GINORMOUS" homes on the Halifax River and on the ocean. Brian and I have picked out several that we are considering.... (HA, we wish!) While driving, Molly gave us a little concert of songs.

Once back at the hotel, I took the girls down to the ocean to take some pictures. I have been wanting to do that all week. I really freaked out this morning though because my camera stopped working. Well, the camera itself worked but I couldn't see anything on the screen. I even got online to see if I could fix it, but could not. So, I hoped and prayed that I could aim halfway decent and could edit on the computer later. Let me know what you think. Aim was pretty good!

Fun at the Beach, Day 4

This picture made this entire trip worth it. The fun they had today together was wonderful! The girls got tired a lot faster today. I think the all day playing in the pool and the beach is catching up with them. Molly kind of broke out of her shell today with regards to the ocean and the beach. She wanted to stand in the ocean letting the waves hit her....without holding our hand. I was still right there in case one was too big, but she wanted to be a big girl! Both girls have the same kind of love for the ocean as their daddy does.

The girls were running around the beach this afternoon singing and playing. They were singing "Ring around the rosie" and they were also singing a song they made up called "I love the sing with you." Both were sung as loud as they possibly could.

Then, they decided to make "sand angels."

Before we went in for the day, we got back in the pool for a few minutes. I showed Macy a couple of times how to dive in...and she picked it up so quickly. I got the camera out to video proof that she could do it. So proud!

Thought I'd throw this one in as well...this is my coppertone baby! They were rolling the ball to each other...Molly just didn't want any clothes on!

We have seen a lot of jellyfish this week. Brian says this is not a normal thing...but a product of Hurricane Bill that was in the Atlantic. They were as big as my head!

The Alligator

Ever since we got here on Saturday, Molly has asked us numerous times to go see the "alligator." Brian and I could never understand what she was talking about. We couldn't remember stopping anywhere that had one. So, finally, to appease her, we said ok, we'll go see the alligator, knowing full well that we still had no idea what she was talking about. So, last night, as we were walking down the hall on our way to the car, she kept walking while we turned down the hall. I said, "Molly, where are you going?" She said, "I want to see the alligator." Then, the light bulb went off.... the ELEVATOR! She wanted to ride the elevator. I tried to sound out the word so she could say it correctly, but it came out EH-VE-VA-YER. So, we let her say alligator, because we think it is so stinkin' cute.

Fish in the Water

Macy has been doing so well swimming this entire summer. It has been so nice to not have to worry so much about her in the pool while on vacation. She really is growing up so fast. Brian told me this morning that she could swim the width of the pool, and he wasn't kidding! (Forgive the end of the video...the sun was so bright that I couldn't really see what I was recording!)

Fun at the Beach, Day 3

Today started out at the pool again. The girls just absolutely love both pools (kids pool and the adult pool - which we think is heated). The girls each took turns going with daddy to the beach. Somehow, neither wanted to go at the same time. Daddy took the girls up to the room for lunch so mommy got some much needed relaxing and book reading done.


The girls got to play with two different boys their age today, Methias and Micah. The girls shared their toys and had so much fun. Funny how they will share with others, just not each other!

After lunch and a little more time in the pool, it was time for the girls to take a nap. Brian and I thought we would try something that would work out for all of us. YES, the girls took a nap under the umbrella outside by the pool, daddy got to relax on the beach all my himself, and mommy got to relax under the umbrella and read some more of her book. Life was really good!

I think Macy was a "flower child" in a former life, what do you think?


This evening, we went to eat at Brian's favorite place, Aunt Catfish. The girls must have saved their appetites because they ate so good. They loved the salad bar...go figure! After we ate, the girls got to play on the slide just outside the restaurant.


Another incredible, fun-filled day had by all!
