New Arrangements

Brian and I have been searching for something to go on either side of our mantel. We had these beautiful, tall vases, but Brian dropped and broke one while putting out Christmas decorations. I brought home every kind of vase, pot, and candlestick from Hobby Lobby and nothing! So, when I took everything back, I thought...well, I can just make something. So, I bought the containers and the greenery and made my own. What do you think?

Molly's 2nd Birthday

Dear Molly,

It's hard to believe that you are two years old today. All through Christmas I kept remembering that just last year, you weren't even walking yet. My how time flies. I love you so much. You used to be my calm, not a care in the world, easy baby...and now you are far from easy...but you keep life fun. You make us laugh all the time with the funny things that you say; the fact that you are just determined not to say "Nomie"; you tell on me and daddy when we get on to you; you absolutely love your sister; you love playing outside and getting dirty; your dinner always ends up in your hair; you love taking a bath; you love climbing and jumping, especially on me and your daddy; and you LOVE to sing...and you are really good at it. We are amazed every day at the songs that you know and you are right on pitch...now we just need to work on all the words.

You keep me grounded...because every time I look at you I think of how sick you were when you were only 3 weeks old. No mother should ever have to see their child with RSV in an oxygen tent at Vanderbilt. I know there are many other mothers who have seen worse for their children and in that respect, I am thankful that it wasn't any worse than it was.

I love you so much. You and your sister are the light of my life and I would do anything for you. Have a wonderful birthday!

Molly's 2nd Birthday Party

We had Molly's birthday party at a place here called Monkey Joe's. It has all different kinds of inflatables. Molly has always loved jumping on her bed or the couch or really anything, so we thought she would love it. Well, we were wrong. At first, she absolutely screamed and cried when we took her close to anything.

Then, after a little pizza and sprite, she warmed up and had a blast!

She especially loved the cupcakes...well, the icing. You see that she is handing me back the actual cake part!

Another Amazing Discovery

Do you remember here when I discovered that WD-40 could remove crayon off of the wall? Well, I discovered another amazing cleaning tip...unfortunately it was due to my daughter Molly...AGAIN! Around the same time as the crayon incident, I found that Molly had colored on our cherry wood desk with a permanent marker...blue, no less. I cried and just really thought it was ruined. I couldn't even cover it with anything because it is in the empty area in the middle. Well, I was cleaning our bonus room today and was dusting the desk when I thought...I am just going to see what I can find on the internet. Well...did I find a cure!! A pink pencil eraser! I know you are saying what I did...how could a pencil eraser do anything? Well, it came off like I was erasing pencil from a piece of paper. I couldn't believe it. My desk looks great and no more permanent markers. Literally...they are put so far up that I have trouble reaching them!

The internet is a wonderful thing!!
