A Walk with Mommy

My mom and I decided to take a walk with the girls this morning. It was such a beautiful day and the girls just loved it. They were decked out with their sunglasses and water.

A Little Private Time

I haven't laughed as hard as I did tonight in a very long time. I came around the corner from putting Molly into bed and saw this. I guess we all have to take a little time when we go the the potty. She is just learning early how to pass the time as she sits. She is getting a little Halloween decorating advice.

Swimming Lessons

Well, right now in swimming lessons, I have one child who is a fish (Macy) and one child who is a frog (Molly). The reason I say frog is because Molly loves to be in the water, but she would rather be sitting in the bathtub than putting her head under the water. Her daddy is in the class with her and she just didn't like it at all. Macy, on the other hand, is doing just fabulous putting her head under the water. In fact, today was the first time she swam and lifted her head out of the water to take a breath. I was so proud!!

New Picture

The "decorating bug" that is still present in our house. Brian bought a painting (with his birthday money) to go over the new "bomme" that we bought. I must say, it is beautiful.

Fun in the Fountains

Today, we met up with all the girls to have a picnic and play in the fountains. We had not been in quite a while because it has been so hot. They had a blast playing and running and laughing.

Fall Festival

Friday night was Fall Festival at the elementary school where Brian's sister teaches. It is also the school where Brian attended. We had never been...really never had a reason to go until we had children. It is like a "mini" fair held on the front lawn and the street in front of the school. They have cute games for the kids to play and funny little prizes. The girls absolutely had a blast!! I had no idea just how much Macy loved playing these little games. People from all over the area were there. It was packed.

This is the "key" game. For 2 tickets, you got to pick 1 key and for 4 tickets, you got 3 keys. Of course, we picked the 3 keys and wouldn't you kow it, Macy didn't pick one of the right keys that would fit the lock. So, she didn't get a stuffed animal, but she was alright.

Molly found the jumping castle and could have stayed in there the entire time. I am seriously thinking about renting one of these for her birthday.

We then got Macy's face painted. She showed her cheek off to everyone. She was so proud. Molly didn't get her face painted...due to the fact that she can't sit still long enough. HA

Here's Molly and Macy playing the duck game. This one confused us. You had to throw the duck into the water and land on a lillypad. Now, don't frogs get on lilly pads and not ducks? Oh well, that is Kentucky for ya.

Macy begged and begged to play this next game. It was called "string war." I kept trying to put her off because I didn't think she would like it, but she insisted, so we did it. And you know what? I think it was her most favorite game.

Fun in the Water

This evening we went outside with the girls to play for a while because it was so beautiful. Brian had been watering some of the plants...and next thing we knew, Macy was pouring the water over her head with the water hose. She thought it was so funny, that she began chasing her daddy with the hose trying to get him wet. Unfortunately, she never did catch him. Nomie and Poppy came over for a little while too.

The Decorating Bug is Scratching Again

This past week and weekend, Brian and I changed out some of the light fixtures in the house. We are trying to update the house and that is a fairly inexpensive way to do that. There was so much brass in the house, it almost was gaudy. We like what we have done so far. We have changed out the entry way light, the hall light and the family room fan. Next on the list is our bedroom and the dining room. I am going to paint the one in the dining room because we like the light and I am painting a chandelier that my parents gave us for the bedroom. I can't wait to see how they look.

We also found a new piece of furniture at Home Goods. We have been wanting a bomme chest for our entry way. We toyed with finding an old chest and having it painted. We searched all over the internet and in stores trying to find what we were looking for...and Saturday, we found exactly what we were looking for and MUCH less expensive that we planned. Now, we have to find that PERFECT picture to go above it. That is going to be even harder than finding the chest.

Ready for Fall

This past weekend, I got out all of my fall accessories for the house. I am so tired of the hot weather and am ready for some cooler days. I certainly don't want freezing, but a light sweater wouldn't be bad. I haven't purchased the big pumpkins yet, but maybe this weekend. We are going to see Brian's family this weekend and we always get our pumpkins there. Here are a few pictures of what I've done so far.

5 YEARS!!

Today, Brian and I celebrated 5 years of marriage. I told Brian that we better slow down...5 years and 2 children. Woah nelly!! We got a babysitter for the girls, went to a wonderful restaurant for dinner and then to the Melting Pot for dessert. YUM! It really is amazing how time passes so quickly. It is hard to stop and think back to how easy life was. We both worked, no kids, we could go and do whatever we wanted. But our marriage and our family is just amazing and I wouldn't ask for it to have happened any other way.

Brian, I love you so much. I love you more as each day passes. I think back to how we met and what brought us together and it makes me laugh. I remember that Christmas Eve when we both told each other we loved each other and that we knew we would be together forever. I remember Lovers Lane, the sunset and you proposing. I remember us giving each other the same card on Valentine's Day. I am so blessed that God created you just for me.

My Little Fish

Macy started back to swimming lessons today after taking the summer off. She has really improved even since last May. She absolutely loves the water and her teacher was very proud of her accomplishments over the summer.

Disney on Ice

Tonight we took Macy to see Disney on Ice with her friend Emma Grace. Her parents, Jen and Troy went as well. Molly had a sleepover with Nomie and Poppy. We went to the Spaghetti Factory for dinner before the show. The girls absolutely loved their spaghetti and of course, the ice cream for dessert. Every other sentence was, "when are we going to see Cinderella."

The girls were mesmerized when the show began. Macy was actually a little scared when Mickey and Minnie came out. I don't think she knew what to think. I looked at Brian wondering if we had made a mistake booking our trip to Disneyworld in three weeks. But, a few minutes later, Macy couldn't take her eyes off of the ice. They saw "The Little Mermaid", "The Lion King", "Cars", and "Tinkerbell." The Princesses were not part of the show. (We obviously did not know that, but the girls didn't care) When the show was over, Macy asked me if we could come back to Disneyworld. I thought to myself..."if she thinks this is Disneyworld, she is in for such a treat!!!"

I loved this picture of Macy. She was so taken with the skaters, that nothing was going to stand in her way. She went right down to the wall and watched.
