Big Sister Party

The girls attended a "Big Sister Party" today and what a blast they had. A good friend, Jennifer, is expecting her second baby, a girl, in the next couple of weeks and she wanted to do something special for her other daughter who is 3 1/2. So, in attendance was Emma Grace (going to be big sister), Jessica's daughters Maddie (big sister, 4) and Claire (little sister, almost 3), my girls Macy (big sister, almost 4) and Molly (little sister, 2 1/2) and another of our friends Jenny who has a daughter Lola (big sister, 4) and a soon to be little brother Max. What a party!! They started by painting onesies for their baby dolls. They had all kinds of paint and markers and stickers to decorate. Then, they each got a bag that included a diaper, bottle, and pacifier. Jennifer taught them how to put a diaper on their baby, feed their baby and put them down for a nap. It was the cutest thing. Then, they played "Pass the Stinky Diaper" aka "Hot Potato." The girls were so funny because each one who got "out" because they were holding the diaper when the music stopped thought they won the game. They were excited when they got out. Too funny. Then, they had the most amazing lunch: peanut butter and jelly sandwiches cut into the shape of a heart, strawberries, grapes, bananas, and pretzels and then for dessert, they each got a strawberry cupcake and all kinds of candies to decorate the cupcake.

Macy and Molly just had the best time. Everything was so creative. I couldn't believe the Jennifer, being 37 weeks pregnant got all this together. Thank you so much!

Funny Picture

It was so funny when I peeked around the corner this evening to find this. The girls were watching a movie and Molly was laying between the chair and the ottoman with just her head poking out to see the TV. So cute.

Lunch With Nomie

Today, the girls and I went to have lunch with my mom. She just started a new job that is much closer to where we live, so we met at Chic-Fil-A. Of course, the girls had a blast playing as well. They always do there. Here are a few fun pictures.

Really Cute Videos

We were sitting out on the back porch yesterday evening and the girls were just cracking us up, so I had to get out the camera and video. This first video is of Molly singing "Our God Is So Great." She learned it from hearing Macy sing it. It was one of the songs that Macy sang in her Mother's Day Out Program.

This video is of Macy singing the same song, but with the added distraction (I mean voice) of Molly.

This last video is of Molly trying to blow bubbles. It absolutely cracked us up how she was trying to do it.

Pool Fun

We finally got a bigger pool for the kids to play in and they just had a ball today. It was so pretty outside and it was just perfect for them to play in. It would have been a little too cold for me to get in since it came out of the water hose, but maybe tomorrow it will be warmer from the sun. They didn't want to come in for a nap but when they finally did...they were out! They were worn out, but loved every minute of it. I am so glad we got the pool for them.

4 going on 16

Today, I went to pick up Macy from my in-laws. Macy was so excited to see Molly after the long weekend. She told Molly that she wanted to take her for a drive...in her jeep. Macy drove her around the back...only she also drove her NiNi's plants and flowers. She was weaving around, driving through the plants and running into cars. It was absolutely hilarious. I sure do hope she gets better before she turns 16 or I don't want to know how much our car insurance will skyrocket!!

Fun in the Pool

Our good friends invited us today to go to the pool. Macy was still with her Nini and Granddaddy, so Brian and I took Molly. I wasn't sure how she would do because the only swimming we have done has been swimming lessons and she is less than thrilled to get into the pool. But, to my wonderful surprise, she absolutely loved it! The children's pool was just the right depth, up to her waist. She had such a great time and I had a great time just watching her...and taking pictures of course!

Congratulations

Brian and I had the privelege of singing and playing at his cousin's wedding this weekend. We were treated like royalty! The wedding was at a convention center on the lake. We got to stay for the entire weekend, enjoyed the rehearsal dinner, a big breakfast the next morning, the wedding, the reception, and lots of rest!! My parents kept Molly and Brian's parents kept Macy. It was so quiet!! We couldn't believe the drive there. Two hours of quiet...we didn't even turn the radio on! HA

Jennifer was such a beautiful bride and it was so wonderful to meet her new husband. Thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your special day!

As we were driving home today, we saw a family of 6 deer running through this yard. I quickly grabbed my camera to capture this amazing site in the middle of the day.

Vacation Bible School

Our church's annual Vacation Bible School started today. This is the first year that I have volunteered to help. I just had to show these pictures because I was blown away at the amount of kids that come. What an awesome opportunity our church has to reach these kids. WOW!

He's Done It Again...

If you remember last spring, when Brian made our yard look like this...well, he has done it again. He worked so hard over the weekend planting and pulling and mulching. I am so glad that he loves to work in the yard. I don't mind some of it, but I just don't like the heat.


We actually had heard from some friends that a nursery that was just down the street had opened to the public and had some good deals, so we went to check it out. Did I say good deals??? Oh my goodness,...we got two huge hanging baskets, two large potted plants, 2 (10 pack) flats of plants and 2 (36 pack) flats of flowers for $40!! And take a look at the hanging baskets (not hanging in the picture) and one of the pots...$6!!!!!


Then Sunday, when I got home from having to sing all three services at church, Brian told me he had a surprise. I was so excited. He got me a new umbrella for our deck furniture. Ours had broken at the end of last year and I had been talking about one for a while. I had always heard that you should match your back porch or whatever you see from the back of the house to what your colors are from inside the windows. Well, our colors are golden yellow, brown and a shrimp orange in the kitchen and dining room/living room. Well, the umbrella is the shrimp orange and it looks fantastic from inside the house looking out.


Doesn't this back porch look inviting? Who's up for some iced tea on the back porch?

I'm So Glad I'm Me

Today, Macy had her first dance recital. I am sure that I was way more excited about it than she was, but she sure did love putting on that costume. I decided to try and roll her hair in sponge rollers Thursday night to even see if she would leave them in. I can remember my mother doing that to me and I didn't seem to mind it too much. She actually left them in. Molly wanted hers rolled as well...but, wanted them out as soon as her head hit the pillow.

Friday morning, the rollers were still in Macy's hair and it turned out adorable. She had the dress rehearsal on Friday and that is when we were able to make pictures and take video. I know I am her mother, but I really think she was the best and the cutest kid on stage! Her Nini and Granddaddy, Nomie and Poppy, Molly and Aunt Mary Jane were all able to come watch her perform during the rehearsal.


I volunteered to be one of the stage moms for her class so I was able to help all the girls line up and get ready to go on stage. They were so cute and so excited.


Saturday was the performance and Brian was able to go and see her. The three of us had a date. We took Macy to the Spaghetti Factory before the recital and then walked over to the performance hall. It was really special because the dance studio performs in the largest performance hall in Nashville, where any musical like Phantom of the Opera performs. Really neat!!
