Ironic

Yesterday, while I was out running errands, Brian and Molly went to Cracker Barrel to eat breakfast. Macy has been with my in-laws all weekend and this was some sweet time that they could spend together. Molly somehow convinced Brian to buy her two toys. One of those was a "singing squirrel." I know you are thinking....what? Why would Brian buy her something like that? Well, when you hear the song he sings, you will know why it is so hilarious. Those of you who know Molly will completely understand why this is titled "Ironic."

Holiday Home Tour

Last year, all of us bloggers posted pictures of our homes decorated for Christmas so that you could take a tour. This year is no different. I am so glad that I have completed my decorating...well, all but a few finishing touches.

Eye Opener (Or maybe Ear Opener)

Have you ever gotten up in the morning and just knew it wasn't going to be a good day? Well, that was today for me and it was proven over and over...but that is an entirely different post! I took the girls to Chic-Fil-A today to get out of the house for a little while and to let them run off some energy. While the girls were playing and I was just sitting there with my own thoughts, the quiet was interrupted by a mother yelling at her child. I don't just mean LOUD, I mean hurtful. I really couldn't believe what I was hearing. All I could do was think of the times that I have totally lost it with my girls and wonder what other people must of thought. I am pretty sure that I have never lost it like this mother did...I at least try to keep my "lack of control" at home! I began to wonder what my girls thought when I yelled (that by the way I absolutely hate doing and pray every day for the Lord to change me). I wondered if what I said hurt them....emotionally, spiritually,...what do they think of me? I also realized that God took an incredibly hard day (girls were wearing me thin, and that was only by 10am) to get to realize these things. A day when I might have yelled. A day when I might have said something hurtful just because I was frustrated. A day when I had lost all patience. Thank you Lord for teaching me today. Please help me remember this lesson every day.

Haircuts

It was finally time for the girls to have a haircut. They have had bangs trimmed and little things like that, but they both needed a real haircut. They had so much fun sitting up in the chair and being "big girls."


I just think they both look a little too grown up!!

Sweet Sayings

Tonight as we were driving in the car, here was the conversation:

Macy: Mommy, you know what I'm gonna be when I grow up?
Me: No, what are you gonna be?
Macy: I'm gonna be a Nomie (that is what she calls my mom - "No-Me")
Me: Well, that is wonderful Macy. You will be a great Nomie.
Macy: And when I get older, I'm going to take care of you.
Me: I would love that Macy. I will probably need someone to take care of me.
Macy: I will always love you mommy!

My Smart Child

This evening, while I was changing the sheets on our bed, Macy and I had this little conversation:

Macy: "Mommy, what is indivisible?"
Me: "Do you mean invisible?"
Macy: "No Mommy, in-di-vi-si-ble"
Me: "Macy, have you learned The Pledge of Allegiance?"
Macy: (see below - of course I had her do it again to get it on video)

Of course...after hearing this....I called just about everyone we know! HA

Happy Halloween!

The girls has so much fun trick-or-treating tonight. They did last year, but weren't really into it. This year....oh yeah...they knew how to go about getting the candy! After several houses, Molly even got the hang of it. We came up to Brian's parent's house because they get lots of trick-or-treaters. Last year, they had 310 and this year it was only 202!! My mother-in-law starts buying candy at the beginning of October.

Dance Party

Today during both of the girl's dance classes, they put on a little Halloween dance and then had a party. The girls were so excited to wear their costumes "before" Halloween.

During Molly's dance class, the teacher asked them to do a pose that represented what they were dressed up as...not sure what these two poses were, but they were certainly "Molly!"

Jesus Loves Me

Beautiful Rainbows

Macy has really been drawing a lot of rainbows lately. Anytime she can draw, color, or paint, that is what she chooses to draw. Today when I picked her up from Sunday School, the teacher pointed me to this beautiful painting. I know as a parent, we all think our children's drawings are wonderful...but this one just blew me away. It was one of the best pictures I have ever seen her do. I was so proud!

Fall Festival

Every year, my sister-in-law's school has a Fall Festival with lots of games, food, and tons of fun! The girls had so much fun last year that we just couldn't miss it this year. They played all sorts of games. Molly loved the "jumping thing" the best. She got to jump for 4 minutes!!

Then, they wanted to get their face painted. I remember that Molly wouldn't let them do it last year.

The one game that we tried to avoid was the fish bowl toss...which had a prize of a goldfish. We didn't want anymore fish...but we weren't going to tell the girls no either. So, we got the fish. Who do you think carried around those fish? Yes, me and Brian. We kept praying they would jump out! Well...they didn't...until Molly accidentally knocked them over while we were eating. The poor fish were flopping all over the table. Brian's aunt, Mary Jane, quickly grabbed the glass as we put the fish back in and said "I'll go get water!" When she came back, I looked at the glass and thought, that doesn't look right. She had put water in the glass from the ice bucket where the drinks were. Those poor little fish were in shock. I told her that I was pretty sure she had killed them. I was actually very thankful! She rushed off and said she was going to "resuscitate" them. She came back and those stinkin fish were alive and swimming around. I couldn't believe it.
